Varun Dhawan and Atlee might collaborate soon for a remake of Theri. 

According to ETimes, the duo is teaming up for a remake of a South film. A source told the publication that it is likely to be Atlee's own Theri. Released in 2016, Theri was an action thriller starring Vijay and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. It was 'partially' remade into a 2019 Assamese film, Ratnakar: A New Myth of Love. 

Varun is presently working on Nitesh Tiwari's next. His forthcoming releases are Jug Jugg Jeeyo and Bhediya. 

Atlee, meanwhile, is helming a film with Shah Rukh Khan. It will mark the director's first foray into Bollywood. As per prior reports, SRK essays the double role of a father and son in the film.
