Richa Chadha taking Kathak lessons for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi?

Richa Chadha seems to be prepping for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s OTT debut Heeramandi. The actor is taking diction and Kathak lessons for the role. It is to be noted that Richa was trained as a Kathak dancer while growing up. As per sources, she was also spotted outside the director’s office a few times.

Heeramandi is one of the most ambitious projects till date for Sanjay sir. It being his digital debut which makes it even more special and challenging at the same time as one have to put their best foot forward,” said a source close to the film’s production.

“Richa has already been doing the look tests for the show and she is all set to play a crucial role. As part of it, she’s learning Kathak now and the classes have already begun ahead of the series shoot next month in Mumbai. Richa has been training for the last 2 weeks already and will continue for another few days.”

Heeramandi will explore stories of courtesans and the hidden cultural reality of Heeramandi, a dazzling red-light district, during pre-independent India. It will stream on Netflix.

The last time Richa and Sanjay came together was for the 2013 film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, where the actor played the role of Rasila.
