Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are expecting their first child. Alia took to her Instagram handle on Monday to make the announcement by sharing a couple of pictures.

She wrote, “Our baby ..... coming soon.”  In the first picture, the actor is seen undergoing sonography with Ranbir, back turned, by her side. The screen of the monitor is blurred with a heart symbol. The second picture featured a lion family.

Several celebrities showered their love on the expecting couple, including Ranbir's sister Riddhima Kapoor, actor Mouni Roy, producer Guneet Monga and others. 

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt tied the knot on April 14 this year. The couple had reportedly started dating on the sets of Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. The film is slated for release on September 9 this year. 

Ranbir had recently opened up about his married life at a press event, saying, "I always said that we need tangdi kebab, and not dal chawal in life. But with experience I can say that nothing better than dal chawal. Alia is the tadka in dal chawal, the achar with it, she is everything…."
