Varun Dhawan: Fought with Kiara on Jugjugg Jeeyo sets, she told me I am chauvinistic

Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani-starrer Jugjugg Jeeyo released recently to mostly positive reviews. The chemistry between the actors is being lauded but it wasn’t that smooth sailing between them during the shooting.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Varun revealed that he got into some arguments with Kiara before filming a sequence. So much so that director Raj Mehta had to intervene. There’s a particular scene in the film where the actors fight as they deal with differences as a married couple. Before filming it, Varun and Kiara actually started fighting.

“I and Kiara got into 2-3 fights before we shot the scene. We were discussing the scene and she was like ‘I will say this.’ And I was like ‘but that’s not my point of view.’ As a man that’s not my point of view. I have to earn for my family because that’s what I have been taught. She’s like ‘no you are chauvinistic.’ How’s that chauvinistic? Your brother and father think the same way. Then why am I chauvinistic if I feel I need to earn for my family. That’s what I was taught by my parents,” he told Pinkvilla.

Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, Jugjugg Jeeyo released on June 24. It also stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Prajakta Kohli and Maniesh Paul.
