Actor Taapsee Pannu will be backing a film that will star Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead role, the former confirmed in a recent interview, while promoting her upcoming film Shabaash Mithu.

While an official announcement on the same is yet to be made, Taapsee said in the interview that there is a project that the two actors are working on and if needed, she will also be appearing onscreen, besides backing it. It is to be noted that the upcoming film will be the first time the actors will be collaborating.

Meanwhile, Taapsee is awaiting the release of Hindi film Shabaash Mithu. The film is biopic on cricketer Mithali Raj. She also has Blurr, which is also co-producing, and Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan?

On the other hand, Samantha is rumoured to be involved in another Hindi project, starring opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. Besides this, the actor also has Yashoda, Shaakuntalam, and Kushi at various stages of production. Samantha is also one of the guests on the upcoming Koffee With Karan season 7.
