Actor Shashie Vermaa, best known for his performances in Shorgul, Bala, Panchayat and others, is currently seen in Netflix's show Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein starring Tahir Raj Bhasin, Shweta Tripathi and Anchal Singh.

Shashie Vermaa portrays the father of Shweta Tripathi (Shikha). Talking about how he bagged the role, he says,"It happened because of casting director Shivam Gupta. Though I was auditioned for another father's role but they found me worth for Shweta's father."

He added, "I belong to a small town of Bihar and I have seen such characters in my life, and my theatre experience also helped me to match the vision of writer/director."

The show, he says, is like 'a Shakespearian drama set in modern contemporary time.' 

Sharing his working experience with Shweta Tripathi and Tahir, he elaborates, "I had few scenes with Tahir and yes he is star. Shweta is a brilliant actor and whatever time we spent together I found her very professional and focused. And of course, she is a good daughter. There is no scene of mine with Anchal in this season but as an audience, I found her performance superlative."

Shashie is working on a film by Imtiaz Ali's  production house and two web shows for Netflix. He has also written and directed a web-series which is slated to release this year.
