Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar is showing 'marginal improvement' as she continues to be in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The 92-year-old singer is being treated at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai since January 11 after contracting COVID-19 and pneumonia.

The Mangeshkar family released a statement earlier today about the singer's health. "There is a marginal improvement in Lata Didi's health and she continues to be in the ICU under treatment of a team of doctors, headed by Dr Pratit Samdani," read the statement.

"It's not possible to give updates daily as that is a direct intrusion in the privacy of the family. We request each one of you to be sensitive to this issue," added the family's statement.

Earlier last week, Lata's team had issued a statement urging fans to not believe in any fake news about the singer.

"A sincere appeal. Please do not give wind to any false news, Lata Didi is in the ICU under treatment being treated by Dr Pratit Samdand his team of doctors. The family and the doctors need their space," the statement read.
