Sanjay Gupta announces web-series on drug queen Baby Patankar

Sanjay Gupta has announced a 10-part web series on narcotics queen Shashikala 'Baby' Patankar. 

In the 1980s, Baby was a milk vendor who took to trading marijuana and brown sugar in Mumbai. Eventually, she rose to Mephedrone (MD), also known as Meow Meow.  She controlled a large narcotics empire over the years and was finally arrested in 2015, following a drug bust. 

"On the auspicious occasion of Lohri it gives me great pride and joy to announce our web series based on the life of BABY PATANKAR. The astonishing true story of a household maid who created and controlled the biggest narcotics empire in Mumbai," Sanjay wrote.

According to a report in Mid-Day, the series will be co-directed by Samit Kakkad. It will be produced by Bhushan Kumar. 

Sanjay's last release was Mumbai Saga in 2021. He has also announced a vigilante superhero film titled Rakshak
