Kangana Ranaut has thrown shade at the  box-office collections of Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Alia Bhatt, has garnered Rs. 39. 12 crores at the box office in its opening weekend.

Responding to a post by her sister Rangoli Chandel, Kangana called out the logic of 'Movie mafia mathematics'.

She wrote, 'Movie mafia mathematics… 75 crores film does 43 crores in three days and they call it ultra disaster…160 cr film does 35 cr and it’s a super hit."

In her post, Rangoli extols the opening box-office figures of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, saying 'the record stands tall.' Manikarnika had earned Rs. 42.55 crore in its opening weekend. It figures among the higher-earning films featuring a female star from Bollywood. Alia's Raazi (2018), alongside Gangubai, also features in the list.

Earlier today, the release date of Dhaakad, Kangana's next, was announced. The film opens in theatres on May 27.
