Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Jhund to release on March 4

CE Features

Jhund, starring Amitabh Bachchan and directed by Nagraj Manjule, has a release date. The film will open in theatres on March 4.

Jhund is based on the life of Dr Vijay Barse, a retired sports teacher and founder of ‘slum soccers’ — a Nagpur-based non-profit committed to the upliftment of underprivileged children through football matches. The film marks the Hindi feature debut of Nagraj, who has directed critically-acclaimed Marathi-language films like Sairat and Fandry.

Jhund was shot on location in Nagpur in 2018. The film has been delayed multiple times over the last few years. It is produced by T-Series, Tandav Films Entertainment and Aatpat.

Amitabh Bachchan is also a part of Brahmastra, releasing in September this year. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

Nagraj Manjule recently directed a segment in Unpaused: Naya Safar. He also played the lead character in his short.
