Actor Salman Khan on Tuesday greeted and waved at fans from his Mumbai residence on his birthday. The actor, who turned 57 today, resides at Galaxy Apartments along Bandra Bandstand in Mumbai.

While Salman appeared with his father, veteran actor Salim Khan, to wave at his fans, surrounded by security personnel, the crowd swelled beyond control and the police had to use lathi-charge to disperse the multitude. A video of the incident was posted by a paparazzo on social media.

Salman's house, Galaxy Apartments, draws hundreds of admirers who wish to get a glimpse of their beloved star. The actor has kept up a tradition of greeting them from his residence on special occasions. 

Last evening, Salman’s sister Arpita Khan Sharma and her husband Aayush Sharma hosted a party for Salman, who's been acting in films for over 30 years. The party was attended by Shah Rukh Khan and other celebrities. A video of SRK hugging Salman has also gone viral on social media.
