We had previously reported that Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif will star in a film titled Merry Christmas. The makers on Saturday released a new poster from the film confirming that it will release in theatres in 2023 in Tamil and Hindi.

Merry Christmas is directed by Sriram Raghavan, who has previously directed films like Andhadhun, Badlapur, Agent Vinod. Known for his brand of unique thrillers, this is his first collaboration with Katrina and Vijay.

It is backed by Ramesh Taurani and Sanjay Routray. The poster features two hands holding wine glasses gesturing a "cheers" posture as the shards of glass pieces take the form of a Christmas tree. The film is expected to release in December 2023 for the occasion of Christmas. This will also mark the first time Katrina and Vijay Sethupathi are working together.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi is also part of two Hindi films, Mumbaikar directed by Santhosh Sivan and Jawan directed by Atlee. On the other hand Katrina was last seen in Phone Bhoot, and has Tiger 3 in the making.
