Blood-soaked and arms-outstretched, Shah Rukh Khan appears in a set of pictures that are being called his leaked first-look from Brahmastra.

While it's hard to determine if the pictures, now viral on Twitter, are real or fake, they nonetheless show the actor as the Vanarastra character in Ayan Mukherji's film. The character, a superhero with a Hanuman-like silhouette behind his back, was teased in the Brahmastra trailer, without revealing the actor playing the role. 

Earlier, director Ayan Mukherji had denied Khan and Deepika Padukone being a part of Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva, while staying open to the possibility in future parts. There are persistent rumours that the actors will portray important characters in the franchise. 

Brahmastra is a superhero fantasy film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. The big-budget offering will hit screens on September 9. 

Meanwhile, Khan recently made a cameo appearance in Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha. The actor appears as a younger version of him, and is taught pose by the titular character.
