CE Features

Members of Sanatan Rakshak Sena outfit staged a protest in Varanasi’s Vijaya Mall, against the Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha and demanded to boycott the film.

Laal Singh Chaddha released in theatres on Thursday and is the official remake of Forrest Gump. The film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya, Mona Singh, among others.

The outfit members said that since Aamir had earlier made a statement saying he did not feel safe in India, his films should not be released in the country. The members also submitted a memorandum to the Station House Officer of Bhelupur. Sanatan Rakshak Sena state president Chandra Prakash Singh said after watching Aamir’s last film PK, the actor mocks Hindu deities. They also discouraged people from watching the film and demanded ban on the film.

Laal Singh Chaddha is directed by Advait Chandan and written by Atul Kulkarni. It is to be noted that the film has been facing the wrath of ‘boycott’ hashtags on Twitter. Reacting to this, the actor had said that he “regrets” hurting anyone and that he respects people’s sentiments if they don’t want to watch the film.
