Actor Salim Ghouse passes away

Veteran TV and film actor Salim Ghouse passed away in Mumbai on Thursday. He was 70.

The Family Man actor Sharib Hashmi took to Twitter to condole the demise.

Born in Chennai on January 10, 1952, Salim started his acting journey in 1978 with the movie Swarg Narak, following which he featured in films like Chakra (1981), Saaransh (1984), Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho! (1984), among others.

He attained popularity with the TV series Subah. He also worked with director Shyam Benegal and played Rama, Krishna and Tipu Sultan in the series Bharat Ek Khoj. He was also a part of the sitcom Wagle Ki Duniya (1988).

Famous for playing villains, he featured against Kamal Haasan in Vettri Vizhaa (1989) and against Vijay in the 2009 film Vettaikaaran. He also starred alongside Mohanlal in the classic Malayalam movie Thazhvaram (1990).

Salim also did a few international projects including KimThe Perfect Murder, The DeceiversThe Maharaja’s Daughter and Getting Personal.
