Indian horror maven Vikram Bhatt has announced the fifth installment in the 1920 series. Titled 1920 - Horrors of the Heart, the film will star Avika Gor. It is written by Mahesh Bhatt and will be directed by Vikram's daughter Krishna Bhatt. Vikram will stay on as the producer.

Made in 2008, 1920 was a period mystery-horror starring Rajneesh Duggal and Adah Sharma. A sequel, 1920: Evil Returns, with a different cast, was released in 2012. It was followed by two more installments in 2016 and 2018 respectively.

Announcing the continuation, Vikram wrote on Instagram, "1920 started a new chapter in my life and now another story set in 1920 will kick start in Hindi films the career of the immensely talented @avikagor and the gritty girl director @krishnavbhatt 1920 - horrors of the heart is written by my mentor and guru @maheshfilm - this time I play the producer - cheering from the wings for the emerging."
