Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi will be out on Netflix from April 26, the streaming giant announced on Wednesday. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial was released in theatres on February 25 this year and after a successful stint on the big screen, it's all set to be streamed on Netflix.

"Dekho, dekho chaand Netflix pe aaraha hai #GangubaiKathiawadi arriving on 26th April (Look, look, the moon is coming to Netflix)," Netflix India posted on Instagram with a video of the announcement.

Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on a chapter from the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, written by S. Hussain Zaidi and Jane Borges. The film tells the story of Gangu, a girl from Kathiawad in Gujarat, who is forced into prostitution but ultimately becomes the underworld queen of Mumbai's red-light area Kamathipura.

Apart from Alia, the movie also stars Vijay Raaz, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Jim Sarbh in key roles.
