The decision to reopen theatres in Maharashtra from October 22 has sparked a series of release date announcements. Films such as Sooryavanshi, 83, Jersey, Bachchan Pandey, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui and others have all finalised release spots in the coming months.

Joining the wave is Ajay Devgn's forthcoming directorial, MayDay. The film, an aviation thriller led by Ajay and Amitabh Bachchan, will hit screens on April 29, 2022.

MayDay stars Ajay in the role of a pilot. The cast includes Rakul Preet Singh, Boman Irani, Angira Dhar and Aakanksha Singh. Popular Youtuber CarryMinati also has a role in the film.

Ajay's last release was Bhuj: The Pride of India. The actor has previously directed films like U Me Aur Hum (2008) and Shivaay (2016).
