Sonu Sood, on Monday, issued a statement following the IT raids against him and his associates. Last week, Income Tax officials searched 28 premises across India over two days. Following this, Sonu and his charity foundation have been accused of tax evasion of Rs. 20 crore and further irregularities, it was reported.

"You don't always have to tell your side of the story. Time will," Sonu wrote in his statement posted on social media. The actor, known for his humanitarian efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, said that every rupee in his foundation is 'awaiting its turn to save a precious life and reach the needy.'

"In addition, on many occasions, I have encouraged brands to donate my endorsement fees for humanitarian causes too, which keeps us going," he wrote.

Without addressing the raids, Sonu said he has been busy attending to 'a few guests' over the weekend.

"I have been busy attending to a few guests hence was unable to be at your service for the last four days. Here I am back again in all humility. At your humble service, for life," he wrote.
