On the 20th anniversary of Dil Chahta Hai, his directorial debut, Farhan Akhtar has announced his next feature as director. Titled Jee Le Zaraa, the upcoming film will star Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt in the lead. It is set to go on floors next year. 

Jee Le Zaraa is produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby. The film is the latest in their line of road trip films (preceded by Dil Chahta Hai and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara), this time revolving around female characters. It is written by Farhan, Zoya Akhtar, and Reema Kagti. 

Farhan tweeted, "Did someone say road trip? Thrilled to announce my next film as director and what better day than 20 years of Dil Chahta Hai to do it. Jee Le Zaraa, with Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt, will commence filming in 2022, and I cannot wait to get this show on the road"

Jee Le Zaraa will release in 2023. Farhan's last directorial venture was Don 2 in 2011.
