The actor, who wasn't doing well over the past few years, died due to multiple organ failure

Veteran actor Anupam Shyam, known for his work in both television serials and films, passed away late on Sunday night. He was 63.

The actor, who wasn't doing well over the past few years, died due to multiple organ failure.

He was widely known for his work as Thakur Sajjan Singh in the serial, Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya. Apart from acting in memorable roles in a wide variety of television serials, Anupam also acted in films like Golmaal, Rakta Charitra, Slumdog Millionaire, Lagaan, Dushman, Dil Se, and Satya. 

Confirming the news, actor Manoj Joshi, tweeted, "Saddened by the demise of my friend and very talented actor Anupam Shyam ji. We have lost a great man. My deepest condolences to his family and friends."

Fans and other members of the entertainment industry too took to social media to express their condolences.
