Deepika Padukone looked dazzling as she walked the red carpet in a black and gold sequinned saree at the Cannes Film Festival. The actor is a part of a nine-member jury that will be announcing the winners of this year’s Palme d’Or on the last day of the festival, May 28. Other jury members include actor-director Rebecca Hall, Noomi Rapace, and Italian actor-director Jasmine Trinca, as well as directors Asghar Farhadi, Ladj Ly, Jeff Nichols, and Joachim Trier.

On the red carpet, Deepika donned the Sabyasachi outfit and topped it up with golden earrings and kohled eyes. She posted photos of her look from the festival on Instagram. 'The sari is a story I will never stop telling. No matter where we are in the world, it has its place,' said Sabyasachi Mukherjee…and I couldn’t agree more!" she captioned the post.

Earlier on Tuesday, Deepika went for a greyish printed shirt and green pants during a media interaction at the film gala.

Apart from Deepika, actors Kamal Haasan, R Madhavan, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, director Shekhar Kapur, lyricist Prasoon Joshi, singer-composer A.R. Rahman, and Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur also graced the event.

The 75th Cannes Film Festival will run from May 17 to 28.
