Trailer out for The Whale starring Brendan Fraser

The first full-length trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming film The Whale. The film stars Brendan Fraser as an obese man who struggles to reconnect with his young, teenage daughter played by Sadie Sink. The film is based on a screenplay written by Samuel D Hunter which is an adaptation of the play written by the screenwriter. The Whale is produced by A24 who are best known for making independent horror films like Hereditary, Midsommar, and The Witch. 

The film marks the return of Aronofsky to the director’s chair, nearly five years after his last release Mother! which stars Jennifer Lawrence in the lead. The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and received overwhelming praise from the critics, Brendan Fraser was lauded for portraying a 300 kg man reconciling with his condition while trying to connect with his daughter.

Fraser received a nomination for Best Actor at the Golden Globes Awards while Sadie Sink received a nomination at the Critics Choice Awards. Apart from Sink and Fraser, the cast of the film also includes Ty Simpkins, Hong Chau, Samantha Morton, and Sathya Sridharan.
