The first official trailer for Netflix’s upcoming film The Pale Blue Eye has been released online. The film stars Christian Bale in the lead, he is best known for playing Batman in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. The film is an adaptation of the 2006 book of the same name by Louis Bayard

Set in 1803, the film revolves around the murder of a military cadet, investigation into the murder unravels a larger mystery that threatens the entirety of The West Point Academy. Christian Bale plays Augustus Landor, the detective in the film who works on the murder case, he is assisted by a young, fictionalised version of author Edgar Allan Poe Henry Melling, he is best known for playing Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter films.

Scott Cooper, who previously directed Christian Bale in Out of the Furnace, directed the film while also producing it along with Bale. The film is an adaptation of the 2006 book of the same name by Louis Bayard.

The film is set to have its streaming premiere on Netflix on 6 January 2023 with a worldwide theatrical release on 23 December 2022.
