CE Features

The much-awaited fourth season of Netflix's teen supernatural series Stranger Things will premiere in 2022. The streamer announced the same through a new 30-second teaser from the season.

Further, the footage provides a quick glance at the new season and also reveals a new monster.

Season 3, which streamed in July 2019, ended after the explosion aimed at destroying the Soviet lab to the Upside Down deep under the new Starcourt Mall. Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) was seen taking her sons (Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp) and Eleven (Brown) out of the Indiana town to start a new life. The final scene took us to the far Eastern end of the USSR where guards are feeding a prisoner to an imprisoned Demogorgon, but “not the American,” hinting at a possible return of David Harbour's character Hopper. Hopper's return was eventually confirmed through the first season 4 trailer. The second Eleven-focused trailer hinted at the rumored return of Dr Martin Brenner, played by Matthew Modine.

Stranger Things season 4 started production in February 2020 and was suspended a month later due to the escalating coronavirus pandemic, before resuming again in September.

Created by Matt and Ross Duffer, Stranger Things is produced by Monkey Massacre Productions & 21 Laps Entertainment. The Duffer brothers serve as writers, directors, executive producers and showrunners alongside executive producer/director Shawn Levy and executive producer Dan Cohen of 21 Laps and executive producer Iain Paterson.
