Production is underway on Netflix’s upcoming series adaptation of The Secret of Secrets, a mystery thriller by Dan Brown, the streamer confirmed on Friday. The streaming service provider made the announcement while sharing a photograph offering a first look at Morgan Spector and Rebecca Hall's characters in the series. Spector leads the cast as renowned symbology professor Robert Langdon. Joining him as his co-star is actor Rebecca Hall as Langdon's love interest Katherine Solomon. It is worth noting that Hall is also Spector’s real-life wife and that the couple have collaborated on films such as Christine and Permission.

​According to Deadline, the yet-untitled adaptation of The Secret of Secrets also stars Mamadou Athie and Ben Levi Ross in recurring roles as Michael Harris and Alex Conan, respectively. Joining them in the cast are actors Anamaria Marinca as Dr Gessner, Elena Saurel as Susan Housemore, and Richard Sammel as Karl Muller.

The story follows Langdon as he races against time and deals with ancient forces to rescue not only a scientist who has gone missing but also a manuscript with information about her discoveries. According to Deadline, it offers a blend of futuristic science, mystical lore, international intrigue, and suspense.

Hall enters the project with an impressive list of credits, including notable performances in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, The Town, The Gift, The Night House, Christine, and Passing. Her recent slate includes three film releases, The Man I Love, The End of It, and Onslaught. The actor has A Head Full of Ghosts and Zero Protocol coming up next.

The upcoming series is created by ​Dan Brown himself alongside showrunner Carlton Cuse, who previously co-created Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan.
