Melissa Leo joins Will Smith's Supermax

Supermax is about two FBI agents who investigate murders in high-security prisons

Actor Will Smith's upcoming action-thriller Supermax has added Oscar- and Emmy-winner Melissa to the star cast. The Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax film also stars AnnaSophia Robb, Jason Clarke, and Jaafar Jackson in crucial roles. The cast is rounded out by Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Martin Bats Bradford, Andres Almeida, and Erika Ringor.

Directed by David Gordon Green, Supermax centres on two FBI agents, played by Smith and AnnaSophia Robb, who are assigned to investigate a murder inside one of the world's most notorious maximum-security prisons. The film is being produced by Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona for The Picture Company, along with Will Smith and Adam Fishbach under the Westbrook banner.

Leo had won an Oscar and an Emmy for The Fighter and Louie, respectively. Her credits include The Equalizer, Prisoners, Novitiate, and I Know This Much Is True. Recently seen in Paramount's Passenger, she stars opposite Lili Reinhart in The Mannequin and opposite Shia LaBeouf in The Rooster Prince.
