Stephen Kalyn, who shot to prominence with the Prime Video series Off Campus, is making his next big-screen move with a role in Lionsgate’s upcoming thriller The Housemaid’s Secret. The actor has joined the sequel to the 2025 hit, which stars Sydney Sweeney in the lead.

Kalyn will portray Brock, a lawyer who is dating Sweeney’s character Millie Calloway. Unlike Millie, Brock is unaware of the troubled past she has been keeping from him, adding another personal connection to the increasingly complicated life of the protagonist.

Based on Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel of the same name, the film follows Millie as she takes up a housekeeping job for a woman she is never permitted to meet. Her curiosity about a locked room in the house soon leads her towards secrets that could expose her own past. Kirsten Dunst plays the mysterious Mrs Garrick, while Paul Anthony Kelly has been cast as Douglas Garrick. Michele Morrone will return as Enzo from the first film, with Brittany Snow also part of the cast.

Kalyn’s addition comes as his profile continues to rise following Off Campus, where he plays Dean Di Laurentis. He is set to reprise the role in the upcoming second season, with Dean and Allie Hayes (Mika Abdalla) becoming the central couple. His other credits include Gen V, Cruel Intentions and Motorheads.

Paul Feig, who helmed The Housemaid, returns to direct the sequel, with Rebecca Sonnenshine once again handling the screenplay. The film is based on the second book in McFadden’s Housemaid series and is scheduled to begin production later this year. The Housemaid’s Secret is slated for a theatrical release on December 17, 2027.

The first film, also directed by Feig and led by Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, became a major box-office success after its release in December 2025. The sequel is expected to continue Lionsgate’s plans to build a larger franchise around McFadden’s novels.
