Actor John Cho, best known for his comedic roles as Harold Lee in the Harold & Kumar film franchise has joined the cast of Bad Influence, an upcoming horror film, directed by Jason Perlman. He will feature alongside Xochitl Gomez and Madeleine McGraw in the film, which has recently expanded its cast with several additions.

The film is said to revolve around Isabelle (McGraw) and Kira (Xochitl Gomez), who venture on a road trip during their spring break. The story takes an unexpected turn when a hitchhiker named Liam, whose seemingly ordinary presence conceals something far more sinister, joins them.

The film is written by Brandon Cohen and is described as a young adult horror film. Alongside Cho, Ethan Suplee, known for his roles The Wolf of Wall Street, American History X and John Q among others and Arnas Fedaravicius widely recognised for The Last Kingdom, have also joined the film.

Other actors associated with the film include Serrana Su-Ling Bliss as Fei Chang, James Acaster as Stickers, Dee Bradley as Groundbeef and Ncuti Gatwa as Butterwort, among others. The film has also brought on Tony-winning duo Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss to write original songs for the project.

While John Cho is widely acclaimed for his role in the Harold & Kumar film franchise, he is also known for his work in Star Trek and Cowboy Bebop. Cho is set to reprise his signature role alongside Kal Penn in Harold & Kumar 4, with original creators, Jon Hurwitz and Haydon Schlossberg set to direct the film. The film is an upcoming installment in the comedy film franchise.

With the new cast brought together performers from different genres, Bad Influence will be another film added in Cho's upcoming slate. The YA horror film is in post-production and its release date is yet to be confirmed, according to the reports.
