On Thursday night, Netflix revealed that Emily in Paris season 6 will conclude the series. Sharing a photograph of Lily Collins on the production set, the streamer described the upcoming season as the finale. Principal photography on the sixth season is underway in Greece.
At the end of the fifth season, Emily (Collins) decides to go back to Paris City after her marketing agency starts an office in Rome and following the end of her romantic relationship. After the fifth season started streaming on Netflix, the service provider announced that it has been renewed for another season.
In a recent statement, Emily in Paris creator Darren Star reflected on the long journey with the series that is set to come to an end. Describing it as "the trip of a lifetime," Star expressed his gratitude to Paramount Television Studios, Netflix, and fans who supported the series over the years.
"We can’t wait to share this last chapter with you. Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives, inspiring your dreams of travel and your love of Paris. We will always have Emily in Paris," Star said, alluding to the iconic line said by Humphrey Bogart to Ingrid Bergman in Casablanca.
On the other hand, appearing on video, Collins said that Emily in Paris season 6 will "bring you everything you love about the show and serve as the final chapter in Emily’s adventure of a lifetime. Our entire cast and crew are pouring our hearts into making this a fantastic farewell season."
Backed by Paramount Television Studios alongside Jax Media and Darren Star Productions, the series' fifth season occupied a top 10 spot on Netflix’s global rankings in the English series category for five weeks.
