Filmmaker Doug Liman, known for films like The Bourne Identity, Mr & Mrs Smith, and Edge of Tomorrow, is set to direct an upcoming film titled Star One. The film stars Miles Teller and Eddie Redmayne in the lead roles.
The film, said to be based on a true story, follows two CIA agents who are a foil to each other, commissioned to execute a top-secret mission of delivering arms in the enemy state on the down low. While Teller plays a charismatic agent, Redmayne is an uptight agent. Liman is directing the film from a script by David Coggeshall.
PJ Sandwijk for Storyteller Productions, in partnership with Project X Entertainment's William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and James Vanderbilt, is producing the film. Liman is currently working on the upcoming thriller Bitcoin, starring Casey Affleck, Gal Gadot, and Pete Davidson.
Miles Teller, who was recently seen in Michael, has Paper Tiger and a voice role in The Ark and the Aardvark in the pipeline. Meanwhile, Redmayne, whose last feature was The Good Nurse (2022), will also be seen starring alongside Julia Roberts and Elizabeth Olsen in Panic Carefully, directed by Sam Esmail.
