Damson Idris to headline The Lords' Day from House of Cards author

Damson Idris is set to headline The Lords' Day, a new series from Netflix. The upcomin series will consist of six episodes, with Idris playing the role of Harry Jones, a British spy.

Michael Dobbs, the author of House of Cards (1989), which is the source novel for both the British and American television series, is developing the upcoming series, based on his novel of the same name. Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent serve as writers on the series.

Ben Chanan will serve as a director on The Lords' Day. Idris, Jane Tranter and Dan McCulloch serve as executive producers. Bad Wolf is backing the series along with Netflix.

The official plot of the series is as follows, "On the State Opening of the British Parliament, Harry Jones (Damson Idris) finds himself inside the Palace of Westminster amid a lockdown. As a hostage siege escalates, loyalties are tested and selfless sacrifices are made, leading to a desperate fight for survival where not everyone will emerge alive."
