The makers of the upcoming British psychological erotic thriller Asphyxia have announced the lead star cast of the film.

The film, co-written, directed and produced by Martin Law (Reputation), will star Genevieve Chenneour (Bridgerton), Ola Rapace (Skyfall), Anna Wilson-Jones (Victoria), Lewis Jamison (Trigger Point) and Kathryn Lincoln (A Murder in Venice).

Law is joined by American screenwriter Kimberly Britt as the co-writer. Asphyxia makers describe the film as a "taut, atmospheric and sensually charged thriller that explores identity vs anonymity, trust vs betrayal, and creative obsession and shifting power dynamics." The film follows an isolated writers' retreat where a novelist, Abby Gilbert (Chenneour), who, while grappling with trauma and hallucinations, joins Dr Bennett (Rapace) at a remote Georgian estate. Abby, at the retreat, is drawn towards a charismatic Callum (Jamison) and the enigmatic Kat (Lincoln), after which the "dark desires" and "buried truths" begin to surface.

With Law, under his company Factory Noir, solely producing the film, with Mark Robert Coleman serving as executive producer and Richard Parkinson as associate producer. The film is expected to go on floors later this month.
