Filmmaker Ray Mendoza's upcoming Western drama feature, Blood On The Promontory, has added more actors to its cast. The latest additions comprise Kevin Rankin (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Tokola Black Elk (Happy's Place), Noel Fisher (Dark Winds), Spencer Jarman (The Promise Land), and Dallas Roberts (3:10 to Yuma). The new members will join the previously announced cast, which includes Sam Worthington, Jai Courtney, Jack Quaid, LaMonica Garrett, and Jaeden Martell.
The film, written by Evan Cooper, follows five convicts shackled together by the foot as they attempt to escape through the mountains following a violent train robbery.
Mendoza, a former Navy SEAL, enjoyed a breakout success with Warfare, which he wrote and directed with Alex Garland. Nina Yang Bongiovi, Glenn Kleczkowski, Mark Gillard, and Paul Hadad are producing Blood on the Promontory under Big Newport Studios.
Kevin Rankin's notable feature credits include Hulk (2003) and White House Down (2013), and he made his last film appearance in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019), which serves as a sequel and epilogue to the hit series Breaking Bad. His television appearances include Grey's Anatomy, Breaking Bad, and The Umbrella Academy. He is currently starring as a part of the main cast in ABC's crime drama RJ Decker.
