Billy has no friends and is always looked at with curiosity by her schoolmates in the teaser trailer of Disney's brand new animated flick, Hexed. With Billy voiced by Hailee Steinfeld and her mother's voice dubbed by Rashida Jones, the film is scheduled to open in theatres for Thanksgiving on November 25.

The teaser trailer shows Billy as a misfit teenager who seems to have no friends in school. One fine day, she discovers magical powers and is magically transported through a portal to another world called Hexe. She learns that she is a witch and that the dimension is a world for witches and magic. As she hones her witchcraft, trouble and enemies follow her.

Seven-time Emmy award winner Tracey Ullman and Stephen Fry have joined Steinfeld and Jones as the enchanted feather quill pen, Ms Quill and the magical journal, Elias Quire, respectively. According to its logline, Hexed follows “an awkward teenage girl and her type-A mom, who discover that what makes her unusual might just be magical powers that will turn their lives—and a secret world of magic—upside down."

Hexed is directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand and co-directed by Josie Trinidad. Speaking about the film, Fawn said, "A wonderfully strange phenomenon is happening all around Billie, something she can’t explain. She's someone who has felt miscast in her own life, and it takes leaving her normal world behind and entering a hidden world of wild, unhinged magic to begin to understand herself.”

Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones are attached as producers. Fawn Veerasunthorn has previously worked as a storyboard artist on the Disney Animation films Frozen, Moana, and Zootopia. While Trinidad was previously head of story on Ralph Breaks the Internet and Zootopia, Hand is the co-director of Moana 2 and head of story of Encanto.
