War Machine sequel in the works

Since its debut on March 26, War Machine has reached 139 million views on Netflix

Netflix is proceeding to make the sequel to the enormously successful War Machine. Writer-filmmaker Patrick Hughes is returning to helm the sequel. He is joined by scribe James Beaufort.

Since its debut on March 26, the military sci-fi action film has reached 139 million views on Netflix. This feat has placed the film as one of the top 10 most popular original films on the platform.

The first film, starring Alan Ritchson, who is likely to return as 81 in the sequel, revolves around the Special Ops boot camp whose final recruits are forced to face off against a deadly and mysterious force. It also starred Blake Richardson, Keiynan Lonsdale, Jai Courtney, Esai Morales, Stephan James, Daniel Webber and Dennis Quaid.

Director Hughes is also producing the sequel along with Todd Lieberman, Rich Cook, and Greg McLean. More details regarding the cast, crew and release date are yet to be made.
