There's just ten days to go for the release of Tom Holland's much-anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but mysteries continue to surround the story and characters of the MCU film, especially Sadie Sink's role. But the Stranger Things star continues to remain tight-lipped about even the smallest detail of who she plays in the film.
However, in a new video, she has revealed three new clues regarding her role, or rather dismissed some speculations. "Since the trailer dropped, I’ve seen so many theories about who I’m playing," she said, admitting the hype around her role. "To match your incredible energy, I’ve decided to give you three exclusive, confirmed answers right now," she said.
Firstly, Sink confirmed, "I am not Spider-Man." She then went on to joke about how she is "not Aunt May." Marisa Tomei played the role and died in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Concluding her video, she added, "I can definitely confirm that I am in this movie. As for who I really am, you’ll have to find out in the theater."
Scheduled to release in theatres on July 31, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will begin on the heels of the previous film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which ended with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) casting a spell over the world, to make everyone forget Peter Parker, in order to protect his identity as Spider-Man. This includes his close friends MJ and Ned (Zendaya and Jacob Batalon). The film is Destin Daniel Cretton's second MCU film after Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
The film's logline reads, "It’s a brand new day for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them."
Jon Bernthal stars as Frank Castle/The Punisher while Mark Ruffalo will return as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Along with Ruffalo, Michael Mando, who was seen in an end credits scene for Spider-Man: Homecoming, will reprise his role as the villain Scorpion. Liza Colon-Zayas, known for The Bear, Tramell Tillman (Severance) and Marvin Jones III (Tombstone) are also part of the cast.
