Streamer Netflix has announced that comedian Martin Short will be the subject of its new documentary titled Marty, Life Is Short.

The film will chronicle the rise and career longevity of the 75-year-old legendary comedian. His claim to fame in the 1970s was his performances in SCTV, and he delivered hits with Father of the Bride, Damages, Only Murders in the Building, and Three Amigos.

Described as a "definitive documentary," the documentary film is directed by Lawrence Kasdan. Set for its streaming debut on May 12, the film will include archival footage and new interviews with the comedian and his famous friends. Kasdan is popular for penning blockbuster films such as Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars films, and The Bodyguard. His directorial credits include The Big Chill, Grand Canyon, and Body Heat.
