During British Academy of Film and Television Arts' (BAFTA) award ceremony, Tourette's syndrome activist John Davidson had a couple of uncontrollable outbursts. But one that stunned the audiences is when Michael B Jordan and Delroy Lindo were presenting an award.
Jordan and Lindo were speaking before presenting the award for Best Special Visual Effects. While they were speaking, Davidson shouted out the N-word, which prompted the actors to pause immediately. They then continued their presentation.
Later, Alan Cummings, host of the ceremony, explained the reason behind the outbursts and the cause of Tourette's syndrome and apologised on behalf of everyone. Davidson, who was invited by BAFTA later left the ceremony, reported Variety.
I Swear (2025) is a film based on Davidson's life, which stars Robert Aramayo as Davidson. Aramayo won the Best Leading Actor award for his role in the film. Aramayo also won the EE Rising Star Award.
