Ted Lasso has found himself on a very different football pitch. Three years after the previous season, Jason Sudeikis’ much-loved coach has returned to Richmond, but Season 4 has switched up the formula by putting him in charge of the newly formed Lady Greyhounds, a second-division women’s football team.
The new chapter premiered on Apple TV on August 5 and is being rolled out one episode at a time. Four episodes are currently available, with the fifth instalment scheduled to arrive on September 2. The season will continue with a new episode every Wednesday before concluding with its tenth episode on October 7.
The remaining episodes will release as follows:
Episode 5: September 2
Episode 6: September 9
Episode 7: September 16
Episode 8: September 23
Episode 9: September 30
Episode 10: October 7
Season 4 sees Ted return to England after being persuaded to take on the women's side at AFC Richmond. The change also brings a fresh set of players into the show's world, with Tanya Reynolds joining the returning cast as Coach Chilton, alongside newcomers including Jude Mack, Faye Marsay and Abbie Hern. Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift are among the familiar faces reprising their roles.
The season is also using Ted's new assignment to explore the dynamics of women's football. The Lady Greyhounds have already had to deal with issues ranging from team divisions to the practical difficulties of establishing a new squad. The fourth episode, which arrived on August 26, focused on Ted and Coach Beard attempting to bring the players together after cliques began emerging within the team. For those yet to return to Richmond, Ted Lasso Season 4 is streaming exclusively on Apple TV. New subscribers can also check their eligibility for Apple's seven-day free trial.
