While an actor's career can be oscillating between fame and obscurity, the unpredictability is the factor an actor has to deal with the most. Matthew Lillard spoke about his resurgence on the Phase Hero podcast.
"Scooby-Doo one and two are more popular now than they ever were when they came out. So, I do think there's a weird nostalgia thing happening in our industry and in the zeitgeist because I think that people are longing for ye olde times," said the actor, who added, "I think that's one of the reasons I'm having this moment to be honest, is because I was identified in that moment, so people are hiring me again."
While the actor became widely known for his role as Shaggy Rogers from Scooby-Doo (2002), his second outing with the character proved to be less than fortunate. But the actor has said, "I've gone through good patches and bad patches. I've been irrelevant and thought I was never going to work again."
Lillard faced a resurgence recently, and has been seen in the Five Nights at Freddys films, and in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, and Cross Season 2.
