Fans of The Devil Wears Prada had a moment of déjà vu at Milan Fashion Week when Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci appeared to channel their iconic characters, Miranda Priestly and Nigel Kipling, at Dolce & Gabbana’s spring/summer 2026 show.

In a clip shared by Vogue on Instagram, the two actors were spotted taking their front-row seats beside Naomi Campbell. Another video captured Streep greeting Anna Wintour backstage—the very editor believed to have inspired her character in the 2006 film.

Their appearance has fuelled speculation about whether the outing was a publicity stunt or a clever shoot for the long-awaited sequel. They weren’t alone. Simone Ashley, who reports revealed in July had joined the cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2 as Miranda’s “new assistant”, was also present.

Disney officially greenlit a sequel last year, bringing back original screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, producer Wendy Finerman, and director David Frankel. Production kicked off this summer in New York City.

Adapted from Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel, The Devil Wears Prada starred Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, a young journalist who lands the coveted yet soul-crushing role of assistant to Miranda Priestly, played by Streep. The role went on to become one of Streep’s most celebrated performances, earning her an Academy Award nomination.

The Milan Fashion Week reunion came just months after Anna Wintour announced she would be stepping down as editor-in-chief of Vogue after nearly four decades, though she will continue as Condé Nast’s chief content officer and the magazine’s global editorial director.
