Avatar: Fire and Ash New Trailer: Unlikely alliances threaten Pandora's fate in this film

Avatar: Fire and Ash, is the third in the series of five planned films, and is set to release on December 19

Avatar: Fire and Ash Trailer: The new trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash has been released online. James Cameron returns to write and direct the film which is set to release on December 19.

The trailer begins with Varang, the leader of the Ash people of Pandora, explaining the horrific origins of the Ash people's non-belief in Eywa, the god of the Na'vi, the inhabitants of Pandora. The trailer then shifts to a montage of scenes that highlight the conflict within the Na'vi. Colonel Miles Quaritch, who was the antagonist of the first two films, forms an alliance with Varang to spread the "fire" across Pandora. We also get a glimpse of the Wind Traders of Pandora, who will be the subject of the fourth film.

Returning for Avatar: Fire and Ash, are Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass, and Kate Winslet. Giovanni Ribisi reprises his role of Dr Parker Selfridge, from Avatar (2009). Oona Chaplin, who is known for playing Talisa Maegyr in Game of Thrones, will portray Varang, the leader of the Ash People. David Thewlis, who is known for playing Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter franchise, will play Peylak, a Na'vi who is a Wind Trader, in the film. Michelle Yeoh will be part of the cast of Avatar 4, playing the role of Dr Karina Mogue.

The second film in the series, Avatar: Way of the Water, is set to rerelease in theatres on October 2. The fourth and fifth film in the series are set to release on December 21, 2029 and December 19, 2031, respectively.
