Amazon MGM Studios recently announced that We Were Liars will return for the second season. The series is an adaptation of E Lockhart's novel of the same name, with the first season currently streaming on Prime Video.

Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie developed the series for the banner. Plec and MacKenzie also serve as executive producers for the show along with author Lockhart and Emily Cummins. “The fan response was truly special. There are still plenty of secrets buried on Beechwood Island and we can’t wait to keep digging them up,” said Plec and MacKenzie about the renewal.

The cast for the first season of We Were Liars include Emily Alyn Lind, Shubham Maheshwari, Esther McGregor, Joseph Zada, Caitlin FitzGerald, Mamie Gummer, Candice King, Rahul Kohli, and David Morse.

The first season followed the story of Cadence Sinclair Eastman (Emily Alyn Lind) and her tight knit inner circle, called the "Liars". The Sinclairs, who are American loyalty, are forced to confront their secrets after an accident changes their lives.
