A while ago, we reported about the passing of legendary Hollywood actor, as well as director, Robert Redford. He was 89. Shortly after the news about his demise, many prominent personalities from the entertainment industry took to social media to pay tributes to the actor-filmmaker. Actor Marlee Matlin, who starred in 2022's Best Picture Oscar winner CODA, said that her film earned attention due to the Sundance Film Festival. It is worth noting that the Redford-founded Sundance Film Institute owns and presents the said festival. "A genius has passed. RIP Robert," wrote Matlin on her X account.
On the other hand, Stephen King wrote that Redford "was part of a new and exciting Hollywood in the 70s and 80s," before adding that he finds it "hard to believe" that the legendary actor was 89 years of age.
Meanwhile, actor James Dreyfus called Redford a "terrific actor" and a "brilliant director" in a brief homage on his X page. "Truly legendary," wrote Dreyfus about Redford while sharing a still from the latter's Oscar Best Picture winner Ordinary People. Further, actor Kathrine Narducci described Redford as "the epitome of a true icon and good human" on Instagram.
Redford is most popular for the characters he played in films such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, All the President’s Men, The Candidate, and The Sting, among others.
