Matt Nable, known for his roles in Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow, will team up with Ella Newton for the upcoming urban crime drama Who Needs Love Songs?

The film, marking the feature debut of Kieran Wheeler, who also serves as writer, is produced by Wheeler and Tom Savige under their Broke Egg Films banner. Despite the plot being kept under wraps, Who Needs Love Songs? is set to revolve around social realism.

Wheeler's short film Jungle was an official selection at the 2021 Melbourne International Film Festival.

Recently seen in Netflix's Apple Cider Vinegar, Nable's acting credits include The Dry, Hacksaw Ridge, and his directorial debut, Transfusion. He also has In Cold Light and a documentary, That's Not a Knife, under post-production. Meanwhile, Newton was last seen in this year's Dangerous Animals.
