Jim Caviezel's Archangel sets 2026 release date

Jim Caviezel rose to prominence for portraying Jesus in Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ, which grossed $610 million worldwide

Archangel, starring Jim Caviezel in the lead role, along with Olivia Thirlby, Garret Dillahunt and Shea Whigham, is slated to open in theatres on November 2026, announced Sony Pictures.

Will Eubank, known for Land of Bad and Underwater, is directing the upcoming film from a script by Chris Papasadero and Randall Wallace. Plot details are currently under wraps. It is produced by David Zelon and William Sherak with Peter Guber serving as executive producer.

Eubank recently helmed Land of Bad, featuring Liam Hemsworth and Russell Crowe, as well as Underwater, which starred Kristen Stewart. His debut film, Love, became a festival favorite and earned the “Best of the Fest” honor at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
