Jamie Bell joins Andrew Garfield's The Uprising

The historical feature, directed by Paul Greengrass, has Garfield play a rebel leader who marshals a determined and fiery group to revolt against the tyrannical rule of King Richard II

Actor Jamie Bell, known for his roles in The Adventures of Tintin (2011) and Fantastic Four (2015), is the latest addition to Andrew Garfield starrer, The Uprising. The recent casting announcement featured Bell, along with Thomasin McKenzie and Jonny Lee Miller. The star cast also includes Katherine Waterston.

The historical feature, directed by Paul Greengrass, has Garfield play a rebel leader who marshals a determined and fiery group to revolt against the tyrannical rule of King Richard II. With the rebel group, he marches to fight for survival and justice.

Bell last appeared in the 2023 film All of Us Strangers, directed by Andrew Haigh, which was headlined by Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott. McKenzie, who has recently concluded the filming of Gothic horror Victorian Psycho, catapulted to fame with her performances in Jojo Rabbit and Last Night in Soho. Miller, meanwhile, was a regular for seven seasons in the CBS mystery show Elementary.

The Uprising is produced by Jason Blum through Blumhouse, alongside Greengrass, Gregory Goodman, and Joanna Kaye. Lars Sylvest and Joe Neurauter will also produce through Thank You Pictures and Supernix, respectively.
