According to reports, Saoirse Ronan is set to play a role opposite Paul Mescal’s character Paul McCartney in Sam Mendes’ upcoming four-part films based on each of the singers forming The Beatles band. Reportedly, Ronan has been tapped to portray McCartney’s spouse Linda in the franchise. Linda and McCartney got married back in 1969, and the former served as the latter’s harmony vocalist and pianist in his Wings band. McCartney formed the aforesaid band after his stint with The Beatles.

Sony Pictures is yet to confirm Ronan’s casting in the franchise based on The Beatles. Apart from Mescal, the film series also stars Harrison Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison. The makers of the franchise are yet to announce further cast members.

Mendes is directing four separate films, comprising one from the perspective of each member of the band, collectively known as The Fab Four. Ronan’s role in the franchise, as it pertains to how many films she will star in, remains unknown. The four films will together tell the story of the band, from its humble beginnings in Liverpool to becoming a global phenomenon. The franchise’s tagline reads thus: “Each man has his own story, but together they are legendary.”

Sony Pictures eyes an April 2028 release for all the films in what it calls the “first binge-able theatrical experience.”
