Positive feedback keeps flowing in for filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another even as the film enters the third week of its release. The other day, Jakes Bejoy, the masterful composer behind many blockbusters, including the latest Malayalam industry hit Lokah: Chapter 1, shared a positive review of the film through his Instagram Stories. “What a film! Always a PTA fan! One of a kind score from the legend Jonny Greenwood,” wrote Jakes Bejoy. According to reports, the film has grossed more than $100 million from theatres worldwide, thus shutting out all the recent noise about its box office potential.
It tells the story of an erstwhile revolutionary named Bob Ferguson (Leonardo DiCaprio) who must get back together with his fellow revolutionaries to find and rescue his missing daughter (Chase Infiniti). However, the task is not easy for Ferguson as an enemy from the past (Sean Penn) resurfaces to settle an old score with him. The film also stars Teyana Taylor and Benicio del Toro.
In our One Battle After Another movie review, Prasanth Vallavan called the film a “A deeply incisive and entertaining commentary on the absurdities of extreme attachments to ideologies, and how love and the spirit of rebellion still thrive above all of that.”
